Sport - Cricket;BCCI officials expected finalise Lanka itinerary tomorrow

Colombo, Jan 12 (PTI) The Indian Cricket Board officials will arrive here tomorrow to discuss the itinerary of the much-speculated one-day series against Sri Lanka scheduled next month. "BCCI officials will come to Colombo tomorrow.

They are expected finalise the tour itinerary," sources in Sri Lanka Cricket's (SLC) interim committee told PTI. The series was scheduled after India cancelled its January-February tour of Pakistan in the wake of terror attacks in Mumbai. The Pakistan Cricket Board invited Sri Lanka to step in for India, a proposal that was readily accepted by the then SLC headed by former captain Arjuna Ranatunga.

However, Ranatunga was sacked and the SLC dissolved by the Sports Ministry amid reports that the Board's decision to tour Pakistan irked the BCCI. The Ministry decided to go ahead with the series against Pakistan but after India proposed a five-match one-day series, it decided to split the tour in two halves. Under the arrangement, the Lankans will first play a three-match ODI series in Pakistan before returning to host India and then going back to complete their Pakistan tour.
