Sajid’s next film with Akshay and Deepika is rumoured to be a copy of The Heartbreak Kid, writes Noyon Jyoti Parasara

While his debut directorial venture was said to be a copy of the popular movie Three Men and a Baby, rumour has it that Sajid Khan’s second movie is a copy of another Hollywood flick.

Sources say that Sajid Khan’s second film is based on the 2007 Ben Stiller starrer The Heartbreak Kid. The story of the film revolves around a man who gets married with a girl within six months of his first girlfriend leaving him and getting married to someone else. And during his honeymoon he realises that he made a blunder by marrying. He falls for another girl and gets himself into a bigger mess.

“Akshay will obviously play the title role played by Ben Stiller. Jiah Khan plays the wife which is played by Malin Akerman and Deepika plays the girl he falls for during the honeymoon. This role was played by Michelle Monaghan in The Heartbreak Kid,” says our source. Sajid’s movie stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Jiya Khan and is titled Houseful. And as per Sajid, there is one more heroine to be cast.

Sajid of course denies that his movie is anything but an original script.

“Lot of people thought that my first film was based on Three Men and a Baby. But they had to shut up after they saw the film. And these rumours are not true as well. Once you see the film you will know what I am talking,” he says.

“My film actually has lots more things happening than just two heroes and three
heroines,” he adds.

Sajid Khan maintains that his movie will be complete family entertainer and will bring in more moneys than his first film.

“Everything in Houseful is going to five times larger than life!” he says also promising that it will be the biggest film of 2009.

Interestingly, The Heartbreak Kid was made twice in Hollywood — other than the 2007 one, it was also made in 1973 with a similar story line. Both times, it turned out to be a big hit.
