After becoming the youngest student to get admission for the medical course in 2002, Dr Heenal Raichura, who is just 22, has passed the course to become UK's youngest doctor.
Dr Raichura described her feat as “being a surreal one”. Excited about starting her practice, she said: “I'm slightly nervous because it's a big responsibility.”
Apart from the five years of medical study, she also spent an extra year to get a degree in Anatomy and Developmental Biology from St George's University.
Recalling her years in college, she said she never felt out of place. “Everyone was welcoming and I got pampered,” she said.
