Tech - GPS could save airlines much time & fuel

CHICAGO: A vintage air traffic network that often forces planes to take longer routes is costing airlines billions of dollars in wasted fuel. Now a satellite-based system that has languished in the planning stages for more than a decade will replace the current radar system with global positioning system (GPS) technology .
