TOKYO: NTT DoCoMo Inc, Japan's biggest mobile phone service operator, said on Wednesday it would not rule out the possibility of taking a majority
stake in India's Tata Teleservices Ltd in the future.
DoCoMo earlier said it would buy 26 percent of India's sixth-largest wireless operator for about 130.7 billion Indian rupees ($2.7 billion).
DoCoMo chief executive Ryuji Yamada said the company will for now endeavour to make the alliance work with a holding of 26 percent but left open the possibility of raising its stake in the future.
