India - Sikh pilgrims leave for Pak to celebrate Gurupurab

Amritsar/Wagah Border, November 11 (ANI): Sikh pilgrims on Tuesday left for Pakistan to commemorate the 540th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev at Nankana Sahib Shrine. Every year, thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across the world congregate in Pakistan to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations known as Gurupurab at the birthplace of the founder of the Sikh religion.

For some of the devotees the pilgrimage is bound to revive pre- partition nostalgic memories.
