Business - India;Lloyd Mathias joins Tata Teleservices as Chief Marketing Officer

Lloyd Mathias, who had recently quit Motorola as Senior Director - Sales & Distribution, has joined Tata Teleservices Ltd as Chief Marketing Officer. He will be based in Mumbai and will report to Anil Sardana, Managing Director, Tata Teleservices Ltd.

Though no official comments were forthcoming on Mathais’ appointment, it is known that an internal mail sent out by CN Nagakumar, CHRO, Tata Teleservices Ltd, informs the company about Mathais coming on board.

Mathias has had a long track record in sales and marketing, having been directly responsible for the success of some of India’s biggest brands like Motorola mobile phones, PepsiCo beverages, UB Spirits, and Onida TV.

He was named as one of the 15 international marketeers for 2006 by Internationalist magazine for developing campaigns that had a cross-cultural impact. He has interests in music, quizzing, reading and photography. He did his Masters in Management Studies from Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai University

Tata Teleservices made a good decision in hiring Mathias, and Mathias is going to make a difference.
