Mktg - Air New Zealand offering $1000 for Tattoo Advertising on heads
An airline promoting changes to its domestic flight check-in process is offering to pay people $1,000 to have their heads shaved and tattooed with advertising."How better to tell our customers than through messaging they can read while they're standing in a queue?" Air New Zealand's marketing manager Steve Bayliss said."We're launching a promotion to find guys and girls who want to put their hands up to be `cranial billboards'... people who are willing to give us the back of their heads for two weeks."Those selected will be shaved on the spot and the back of their heads branded with a temporary tattoo which will be visible for about two weeks.Mr Bayliss said check-in queues had become a fact of life."You end up staring at the back of people's heads, waiting for the line to move."Lunchtime "casting calls" will be held at Victoria Square, in Christchurch, on September 16, Frank Kitts Park, in Wellington, on September 17, and Aotea Square in Auckland on September 18.
