Recently Ranbir Kapoor was seen in the cool and catchy remix of R D Burman’s chartbuster ‘Bachna ae haseeno’ in the film by the same title and his act as well as the song went down quite well with the audiences. Now it’s Neil Nitin Mukesh’s turn to capture the audience’s hearts in a similar manner however there is one major difference.

All those who thought that Neil would turn singer with one of the songs by his legendary grandfather Mukesh will be in for a pleasant surprise. The song in question, the R D Burman -Kishore Kumar track ‘Aa dekhen zara’ from the film Rocky (1981) will mark Neil’s debut as a singer in his forthcoming film by the same title as the song.

However what’s more astonishing is that the film’s composer Pritam Chakraborty has decided to stay away from the remix. The song is being remixed by Gaurav Dasgupta.

When contacted, Pritam confirmed and said matter of factly, "It’s not that I’m against remixes. Earlier I have used O.P Nayyar’s ‘Ude jab jab zulfein’ for Kareena Kapoor’s item song in Kya Love Story Hai…but in my own style. Here I wasn’t sure how ‘Aa dekhen zara’ would fit in since the film is a supernatural thriller and was called Freeze. The new title and the song don’t make much sense to me."

"I gave the producers an NOC and told them to record the song in whatever way they like. Now you’re telling me Neil has already sung it. I wanted to launch him as a singer,” added Pritam.

What Pritam left unsaid is that according to sources Aa dekhen zara earlier titled Freeze was in deep trouble.

With the recession and recent terror attacks in Mumbai, apparently no distributor wanted to touch a film with a title called Freeze, hence the new title even if it supposedly does not suit the film.
